GARLAND, Texas — Tucked into a quiet suburban development, Green Pond Drive appears the unlikeliest crime scene. It is a family-filled neighborhood lined with two-story brick houses, well-tended yards, and wide sidewalks.
On a recent afternoon, a father watched his young son ride a bicycle, a jogger ran laps around the block, and carpoolers dropped off schoolchildren.

Those of you who are long-time Globe subscribers, like myself, a vanishing breed , I might add, should take note of the fact that when the Celtics re-signed Delonte West, who had, at the point of his resigning, several serious fights with teamates on multiple teams, several bouts of extremely irratic behavior, endangerd the life of a police officer by cutting him off at high speed, an arrest in Maryland for impared driving on a motorcycle along with the fact that upon his arrest, he was concealing enough kill weapons, I believe a Beretta 9mm handgun, a Ruger .357 magnum handgun, and a Remington 870 shotgun, to render Aquib Talib practically defenseless in comparison. The guns were in his house and were, according to reports, accecsible to kids, the night of his arrest. Delonte was considered so dangerous that the police had him wear an ankle bracelet for eight months. So the Globe's response to Delonte West's aquisition: I qoute Shag here: Let's give the kid a pass. Dan is an associate editor, who, I have to believe sees the stuff that is parsed out, disguised as objective journalism. Did he OKay Shara Springer's column and the repeated references for a week to Aquib's past (Does the Globe think we can't read and remember anything?) YES, they do....they are contemptuous of their readers. So in closing, and making my point, I wish to say: I'm not condoning, in any way Talib's past, just pointing out how the Globe covers the Patriots. Shara, if you disagree with anything I have written, post it in the commnets. I won't be holding my breath.
In old NFL jargon I believe this column would be referred to as "piling on."
Before we cast the first stone, how many of us could have survived his childhood and come out unscathed? This is a new beginning for him. Give him an opportunity to show what he's made of.
