Free agent Mike Napoli was in Boston over the weekend and met with the Red Sox Saturday.
According to team sources, owner John Henry attended the meeting along with general manager Ben Cherington and manager John Farrell. That can be taken as a sign of how serious the Red Sox are about signing Napoli.

His best days are behind him. Why are they bothering?
a .220 hitter that is a liability defensivley .... two years TOPS , talks of giving this guy four years are obscene. He's got a little pop but thats it , do not over pay for him , just because this is an extremely poor FA crop this year does not mean we need to hand out bad contracts .. thats what got the sox in trouble to begin with ..
