Sixty-one years is a long time to wait, but patience had never been one of Frank Spaziani’s issues.
He spent eight years at the University of Virginia under George Welsh, an unfathomable lifespan at a time when college coaches have the life expectancy of an insect.

Of course Spanziani loved BC. What other institution would put up with such a bad coach for so long and pay him so much money? He's a nice guy and all that but so are most of the guys I meet. I wouldn't have any of them coaching a college team. BC was good to him. He was not good for BC. End of story.
