The playoffs are within reach for the Patriots. A win on Sunday in Miami would clinch a fourth straight AFC East title for New England.
A win would elevate the Patriots to 9-3 and knock the Dolphins down to 5-7 and would give the Patriots the necessary tiebreakers even if they lost their four remaining games.
The Patriots have won the AFC East in nine of the past 11 seasons. In the two seasons they didn’t claim the division crowns (2002 and 2008), they tied for the best record in the division and lost on tiebreakers.
All of the AFC division crowns could be wrapped up this weekend, with four weeks still to play. The Broncos (West) and Texans (South) can claim their divisions with wins over the Buccaneers and Titans, respectively.
The Ravens (North) can win their division by beating the Steelers and having the Bengals lose to the Chargers.
