Marvin Miller deserved to be in Hall long ago

It’s a column those of us who cover baseball for a living have written a lot: Of course Marvin Miller should be in the Hall of Fame.

So why isn’t he? And if he does get in someday, he won’t be alive to enjoy it. Why does this happen so often? Why do we wait so long?

An infuriating article! Cafardo never even comes close to saying why HE thinks Miller has been shunned by the Hall voters. He lets an old quote from Miller himself speculate on some sort of conspiracy, but that's it. C'mon, Nick, there's obviously a 10 ton elephant in the room and you whiffed on even mentioning him. If you know something, clue us in. Otherwise, why even bother with a column like this? As you say, it's all been written before many times.

Give me a break......Marvin Miller revolutionized the BUSINESS of baseball - did nothing to improve the game for the FAN.  He does not deserve to be in the Hall of Fame.  He did great things for the players financially but in terms of the GAME he did nothing to improve it in my opinion.

Marvin Miller changed baseball forever. It was great for the players but not necessarily the fans. Todays salaries arent in the best interest of the game, regardless of attendance figures. The HOF belongs to Williams, Mantle and Spahn. It isn't a place for someone who subjectively might be considered a baseball steward...which I don't believe he was.
