Edelman leaves game on crutches

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -- Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman left the game in the fourth quarter with a foot injury and did not return to the game. Afterward, Herald reporter Jeff Howe said he saw Edelman leave the arena on crutches and with a boot on his foot. Patriots special teams captain Matthew Slater saw some reps at wide receiver for Edelman.

Patriots lineman Dan Connolly left the game at the end of the first quarter with a back injury and did not return to the game.
