The Patriots have re-signed receiver Donte’ Stallworth, according to a league source.
The 32-year old was released by New England on Aug. 27 after signing him in to a free-agent contract in March.
The Patriots worked Stallworth out last week, and with Julian Edelman suffering another injury on Sunday in Miami, this time to his foot (he missed three games earlier this season to a hand injury), they must have felt they needed another receiver, one familiar with the offense.
He had not signed with another team since he release, though Stallworth did work out with the Bills and Dolphins.
