Every Sunday, Boston Globe photographer Stan Grossfeld asks the subject of one of his photos to explain what's happening in the shot.
Who’s up today: Greg Torhan, cleaning a 32-foot Blackfin after removing it from the waters of Marina Bay in Quincy, Dec. 4, 2012.
Torhan: “We’re almost done for the season in a week or two. We’re lucky it’s not cold. We got a mild week so we’re going to pull as many as we can. I was thinking, Thank God this wasn’t a very bad boat. Some boats are covered with barnacles and fish eggs and all sorts of stuff. I’ve seen 6 inches thick of fish eggs and about 200 pounds of mussels on them. Spaghetti, a little olive oil, a little garlic butter? Nah, I don’t think so. I just wouldn’t eat ’em. I’m not into that. We get rid of ’em.”
