Sports log: Scott Skiles out as Milwaukee Bucks coach

NBA

One day after Milwaukee and head coach Scott Skiles agreed it was time for a change, the Bucks said Tuesday that veteran assistant Jim Boylan will coach the team for the rest of the season. If this sounds familiar, it should: Skiles was fired as head coach in Chicago in 2007 after the Bulls started 9-16. Boylan, an assistant in Chicago, took over and went 24-32. He was fired at the end of the season . . . Phil Jackson’s coaching days are apparently over. “I have no intention of ever coaching again,’’ Jackson told SheridanHoops.com. ESPN.com reported that Jackson is the Nets’ top candidate to replace the fired Avery Johnson. P.J. Carlesimo is the Nets’ interim coach . . . Wizards owner Ted Leonsis said guard John Wall could make his season debut Saturday against the Hawks after months of rehabbing his injured left knee . . . Jazz forward Marvin Williams will miss the next three games with inflammation in his right knee . . . The Mavericks signed one-time Celtics guard Mike James to a 10-day contract.
