Through its first six contests, the Wakefield boys’ basketball team averaged 73 points en route to a 6-0 start. Tuesday night against visiting Melrose, the Warriors’ offense was stymied by a swarming Raiders defense.

Boosted by a near triple-double from Frantzdy Pierrot, Melrose (7-0) remained perfect with a 61-44 victory. The Warriors previous season-low had been 68 points.
