Hall of Fame voters let candidates twist in the wind

There seemed to be a “let them twist in the wind” element to the Baseball Hall of Fame voting that resulted in no one being elected for the first time since 1996.

Roger Clemens and Barry Bonds got 37.6 and 36.2 percent of the vote, less than I thought they would get. Thought they’d receive close to 50 percent.

I knew Cafardo was wrong when he was making his case for the induction of known steroid junkies. There is no way that these frauds could get 50%. Cafardo sounds like their agent in this article, blaming the "old time" voters while speculating that younger voters would eventually ease the way for cheats like Clemens and Bonds. hats off to the HOF voters for doing the right thing, well at least the majority of them.

I disagree.  Both Clemens and Bonds pre-steroid resumes were good enough to get them in.  I'm also disappointed we're now keeping out suspected vs proven cheats.  Piazza should have made it in...absolute travesty

Yeah, Carfardo has been pining for Fat Face (Clemens) and Big Head Bobby (Bonds) to be instant HOFers. What a joke. Did they have the talent to get there without the juice? Of course. They decided to cheat the game and themselves and in the process lost all respect and dignity. Screw 'em! Let's let that human hairball, one Peter Edward Rose, otherwise known as Charlie Cheater in the HOF too. He didn't bet on EVERY game he was involved in, or did he? What's the difference, Nick?
