The 20th-ranked Wareham boys’ basketball team nearly dropped the ball on the road against Greater New Bedford Friday night.

Led by senior Darien Fernandez’s 22 second-half points, the Vikings came back from a 24-point deficit early in the third quarter to defeat the Bears, 70-65.
