"Brady will be nonplussed". This declaration follows a depiction of the ever-cool, composed Brady. Definition of nonplussed: "1 (of a person) surprised and confused so much that they are unsure how to react" Does the writer speak English? Is he one of those big word users who doesn't know what the big words mean?

Replies

Nonplussed also means the opposite, 2. informal (of a person) not disconcerted; unperturbed. Similar to "irregardless" and "reiterate" it has been used incorrectly so often that that opposite, incorrect meaning is now accepted. If you set out to teach, please give the whole story instead of using half the story as a personal put down.

Jim, I am surprised you are picking the Pats here after your analysys has the Edge to Ravens in 4 - 2 with 2 categories Even. It feels like your mind/analysis says Ravens and your heart says Pats. Being a Pats fan, I will be pulling for them but the Ravens are the team I feel play the Patriots the best and in some ways intimidate them. No other team does this. With the absence of Gronkowski clearing out space and the still very soft secondary of the Patriots, I believe the Ravens pull this out. I hope I am wrong.
