Bill Belichick cites missed chances in Patriots loss

FOXBOROUGH — Not long before his players started emptying their lockers of the gear accumulated during a season, filling black trash bags or large cardboard boxes, coach Bill Belichick strode to the podium one last time Monday to wrap up the Patriots’ 2012 season.

Belichick was surprisingly reflective during his news conference, particularly during his lengthy opening statement, which summarized Sunday’s AFC Championship game loss to the Ravens, the overall success of the team, and the beginning of the offseason for him and his staff.

Has Tom Brady ever admitted that he, not the team, played poorly, made horrible throws, had happy feet, gave up first downs to avoid being hit, gave up a chance for a touchdown at the end of the first half by sliding rather than running  out of bounds, and missed three open recievers for touchdowns. Same as last year's Superbowl, same as the Jets playoff loss. If you listened to Dennis, Callahan and Gasper,  Brady's media angels, you would never think Brady had a bad game.

This is the real Belichick, not the guy who didn't care to answer dumb/incindiary questions from the likes of Shannon Sharpe.

He states clearly and succinctly why his team lost.

BTW  -- If you don't want to put up with this agony every January, October and June I suggest you become a Cleveland fan (or a host of others). We've become a bunch of spoiled brats.

The Ravens played football like someone opened the prison door to let the men run free! An online check revealed that Ray Lewis, Ravens linebacker, was involved in a January 2000 fight following Super Bowl XXXIV: A fight that resulted in the stabbing deaths of two men! Lewis and his two companions were indicted on murder and aggravated-assault charges. The white suit Lewis was wearing the night of the killings has never been found. In a plea agreement he pled guilty to obstruction of justice in exchange for testimony against his two companions. According to Maryland district court records, David Reed, Baltimore Ravens wide receiver and kick returner resolved a misdemeanor possession of marijuana case without admitting guilt and the case is now closed! The question then becomes_ does the NFL not have any checks or balances on the egregious behaviors of football palyers?
