Red Sox outfielder Ryan Kalish had successful surgery Tuesday in Los Angeles, the team announced.

Kalish’s right shoulder arthroscopy and posterior labrum repair were performed by Dr. Lewis Yocum.

The recovery time for Ryan Kalish after his shoulder surgery is expected to be six months. So he might not be ready to start baseball-type activities until August. That could mean the coming season is a wash for him.

Kalish also had surgery on his left shoulder in November 2011, and surgery to repair a bulging disk in his neck in September 2011
