Shawn Thornton out with a concussion. Isn't it odd that Bob Ryan, Mike Felger, Chris Gasper, and all the other media frauds barely mention hockey when talking about concussions. Its OK with them, just ask Mike Felger or Bob Ryan, for 225 pound men to LEAVE THE BENCH FOR THE EXPRESS PURPOSE OF PUNCHING SOMEONE SENSELESS, with no apparent media outrage or even comment. When Ryan did his agenda driven anti football column about coaches sending football players out to harm each other, he conveniently left out hockey coaches who all have their cache of punchdrunk enforcers, ready and waiting for the right moment, apparently endorsed by THEIR COACHES, TO GO OUT ON THE ICE AND DO THEIR "SO CALLED DUTY". Furthermore, if Bob Costas, who works for the network that features pro hockey has said a word criticizing the owners or coaches about hockey concussions, with the same ferver as he did football, I must have been out of the country. But then guys like Coastas and Ryan are just furious that baseball has become inconsequential compared to pro football. They remind me of the Republicans, who cvan't quite believe OVbama won the election. In essence, they just don't get it.
I think it is disgusting that hockey encouages and allows this sort of thing. Pathetic. Thornton could have died or been permanently disabled.
