Cory Schneider in short list of BC goalies in the NHL

Here’s hoping the Roberto Luongo situation gets resolved soon so Cory Schneider can get the chance to be the No. 1 goalie in Vancouver after being drafted in the first round by the Canucks in 2004.

Schneider, 26, still has a long career ahead of him, and he’s already close to becoming the most decorated netminder Boston College has had in the NHL.

Considering how many former Eagles have skated in the NHL, it’s a short and undistinguished list for goalies:

Was far more successful as a coach with Providence (AHL) and the Islanders (2008-11).

Made two starts for the 1981-82 Blues; otherwise did best work for Salt Lake Golden Eagles of CHL.

DAVID LITTMAN

Rhode Island native signed with Bruins in 1993 after strong AHL run, but didn’t make it to big club.
