Paul Pierce wrapped himself in a dark blue coat and prepared to exit a Dorchester elementary school auditorium and head into the cold.
The theory presented to him Monday is one that a growing faction of Celtics fans favor. It has been out there for a while, mind you, but it has picked up steam as the Celtics have reeled off four straight wins without guard Rajon Rondo, who is out for the season because of a knee injury.

I think THESE Celtics are better without Rondo. There is no question that Rondo is a talented basketball player but his control freak ball domination is not complementary to these players. And of course none of the players are going to admit that they are a better team without Rondo.
It's not fair to pin their recent success on Rondo's injury. I think a lot of this has to do with Rivers being forced to give players like Barbosa more time on the court. Rivers tend to overrely on his stars and I think very capable players ride the bench too long as a result.
Easy answer. And terse to boot. NFW.
They are not better but they are playing a better style and involving ALL of those moving parts they acquired last summer!
