Celtics’ season defined by streaks

Paul Pierce and the Celtics have experienced a lot of highs and lows over the past two months.

Since the Celtics won in Brooklyn on Christmas Day to climb above .500 at 14-13, their season has been a roller coaster.

They’ve established separate streaks of four losses, then six wins, then six losses, before their current five-game win stretch.

Throughout it, they’ve looked at times like a playoff team capable of making deep run, and at other times like a listless team heading toward an uninspired finish.

Of course, they’ve also lost two key cogs along the way in Rajon Rondo (knee) and Jared Sullinger (back), who are out for the season with injuries.
