John Henry finally has answers

FORT MYERS, Fla. — He is a “new” owner no more. He can take questions from the carnivorous Boston media without help from ubiquitous wingmen Tom Werner and Larry Lucchino. He no longer wears the Curious George Man-In-The-Yellow-Hat lid when he walks around the Sox spring training site. He has a newborn son to go with his two daughters and he still thinks owning the Red Sox is a swell gig.

John Henry says he doesn’t want to sell the Red Sox. He pledged that he will not sell the team this year.

Until the fan base exercises its own power...by witholding money...viewership...not to support this weak management team, medicority will be the rule for the near future.  We don't have true baseball leadership here, but money managers more interested in European soccer (Henry)  and  media (Werner).  Did these guys ever play sports in high school?  The Red Sox are just a toy-game for them.

It is almost like the Yawkey days of the early 70's are returning again...although involving more waste and more high profile bad decisions.

I give him credit that he got in front of the media. That said, the last 12 years have been the best of his life? Aside from the train wreck that the Sox have been for the last year and a month, didn't his investment business tank too? I'd say the last few years have not been very fun for him. We like to think that he's distracted by owning a soccer team but, personally, I'd be more distracted by losing billions of dollars!

Thanks Dan for leaving the disturbing image of Henry fathering a kid, a son no less!

These guys are very good at lying as well as making money. I'll believe it when I see the product on the field. We have Lester telling us all that it is the team's fault and our lousy perception of him for his losing ways. He thinks he is an "ace". Really? I don't think so. Just another arrogant, young, angry guy telling the world it is to blame for his lack of success. Right. We are still very weak in the pitching rotation and I don't see that they've added very much in the way of real talent. So, I am expecting more of the same as last year and the year before.

Well, we can always hope Henry is quietly entertaining offers.
