When Lincoln-Sudbury ski coach Graham Taylor got the news Monday night that one of his top skiers, freshman Claire Telfer, was sick and would miss Tuesday’s MIAA state nordic championship, he thought his team’s chance for a state title was in trouble.

“I thought it would be real difficult,’’ said Taylor.
