John Farrell brings a different tone to Red Sox camp

FORT MYERS, Fla. — The Red Sox tried something creative last season when they installed Bobby Valentine as manager. The hope was that he would catch the attention of a talented team that had lost its way.

“It was pretty obvious what they wanted to do,” reliever Andrew Miller said. “There was, on a lot of people’s parts, an effort to change the style. They wanted a different kind of personality.”

Can this please be the end, the "Amen!!" to criticizing Bobby Valentine?  Lots of folks were responsible for last season but he gets most of the criticism.  Time to move on; stop demonizing Bobby V and have a winning season!

I agree.  Considering the number of players who were "sent packing" during the season and after, it makes Valentine look like he was right about a lot of things.

Nick Cafardo revealed to be soxchick 382. but I'm tired of reading about Valentine too

John Farrell: a strong steady baseball man Lets go Sox!

This article is a waste of the readers' time. Old, 'kill Bobby V" rhetoric. Farrell is a proven loser as a Manager...so far. HE has to prove himself this year, NOT Valentine. I think the fact that so many players were traded or are now gone speaks to the level of disarray under Coma the previous year, not Valentime.
