WEEI adds Kirk Minihane to ‘Dennis and Callahan’

WEEI has tweaked the format of its morning drive program, adding Kirk Minihane as a third full-time host, joining holdovers John Dennis and Gerry Callahan.

Minihane, whose informed, unfiltered opinions have helped him earn a following as a weekend host (most often paired with Dale Arnold) and fill-in on various WEEI programs, will be an equal voice on the program.

I'm not sure how much Dennis and Callahan have left on their contracts but I think they're all done. They were good to listen to before there was competition. With a political bent, their show plays to an older demographic that WEEI's not looking for. Maybe they're using Minihane as the third wheel to see how the audience reacts and then will make a bigger move. Radio's a tough business!

Maybe just to tame the hate a little.

Getting rid of Ordway was a good start. Let the pins fall and re-set. I'd like to see Dale Arnold back with Michael Holley. They had the best chemistry and analysis without the screaming.

Three is too much. This is a temporary move before Dennis and Callahan are released. I am curious to see if those two can subjogate their egos at all during the transition phase.
