Report: Bobby Valentine gets new job

Former Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine, a Stamford, Conn., native, is expected to be named athletic director at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Conn., the Connecticut Post reported Thursday. Sacred Heart AD John Cook is retiring July 1 and Valentine is expected to be named Tuesday.

“An intriguing opportunity has been presented to me and it’s something I really feel I can enjoy doing and I feel could be mutually beneficial,” Valentine told the Connecticut Post
