Bobby Valentine begins job as college AD

Former Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine was officially introduced Tuesday as the new executive director of intercollegiate athletics at Sacred Heart University in Connecticut.

“We recognize that Bobby is an out-of-the-box selection, but we believe his entrepreneurial spirit, extensive sports background and love of athletics make him an ideal choice. He is a native son with strong name recognition, and his selection demonstrates Sacred Heart’s commitment to its athletic program and to innovation and excellence throughout the University,” said SHU president John J. Petillo in a statement.

Sacred Heart has 31 Div 1 programs? Wow. Harvard has 33. BC has 29. BU has 23. UMass only has 19. Good luck, Bobby.

Good for Bobby. Best of luck.

I wish him all the best and if the truth is known, I'm sure he is glad to be away from all the nut jobs in Bosotn.

Hmmmm......Boston!
