Tom Brady signs three-year extension with New England Patriots

Tom Brady long has said he intends to play until he’s 40 years old.

And after he signed an extension Monday with the Patriots that goes through the 2017 season — the year he will celebrate his 40th birthday — chances are he will not just be on the field for that milestone, he will do it in a Patriots uniform.

Boo hoo for any player who might not like the fact that Brady took less money so they might be expected to take less.  Hopefully, we don't have too many of those guys around. It's not like the money saved is going into the pockets of the Krafts or the NFL - it will be spread around and go to other players - teammates!  Tom is leading (as usual). Follow the leader! (And also notice that we heard nary a word from Tom about such nonsense that we have heard from others being "disrespected" or having to "put bread on the table.") Thank you, Tom!!!!

In typical and predictable fashion, only the Pravda like Red Sox news that's fit for print can take the fact that Brady sacrificed millions in order for management to build a better team and vainly attempt to turn it in Young's last line to a warnng, rather than a celebration of Brady's selflessness.  Hey Abraham and Carfardo, imagine David Ortiz, John Lester or Jacoby Boras taking a pay cut to better the team?  HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA HA and AMEN.

What else can you say about Tom Brady other than he wants to win and is willing to put his money where his mouth is and he is SO unselfish. Lesson to others, greed is not good and when you retire your memories are how you played and what you won. The difference between  9 million a year or 14 million a year fades away and unless you are a complete moron which Brady isn't, you will have more than enough of it and incredible memories of a great career and life. Congratulations Tom and you will get that elusive 4th ring.

I think that the relationship Brady and Kraft have is more like a father and son relationship. I congratulate Tom for doing what he has done.

I think that the situation might be different for some of the other players who may not already be very rich as Brady and his beautiful wife seem to be. Tom and his wife I believe are more than really well off.

Every situation is different.

When so many athletes fail us, Tom steps up and shows class. Thanks TB.
