Hard to believe in these Celtics

Team is easy to root for, but championship run unlikely

In a world of scripted drama and reality shows that are no such thing, uncertainty and the unexpected still exist in the sporting arena. There is no better example of that right now than the Boston Celtics.

Who would have thought the Celtics would be more compelling, intriguing, and riveting to watch after losing Rajon Rondo and the real hope of raising Banner No. 18?

Indeed, there are not many NBA teams that show the heart this team does, and those are the teams, of course, that the Celtics will face in the playoffs, assuming they get there.  In any case, almost any other NBA game without the Celtics is unlikely to see the kind of defensive grit and skill together with offensive persistence as a game that includes the Celtics, which is why I look forward to every Green game I can catch.

Could not possibly agree more!  Most NBA teams are tough to watch, but they are fun to watch and I like their grit and ba...!  I'd finish the sentence but the Globe censor will freak out!  Cheers!

Long term planning is a cute idea, but irrelevant in modern sports. With free agency, salary caps, etc, teams can change in a heartbeat. And please don't mention baseball and minor leagues, I'm talking about modern, professional sports.
