BU hockey coach to retire, reports say

Jack Parker will retire as head coach of Boston University’s men’s hockey team after 40 seasons, sources tell ESPN. The announcement will come Monday, on Parker’s 68th birthday.

Parker has won 894 games at BU, the most by a coach at one school and third-most all time behind current Boston College coach Jerry York and former Michigan State coach Ron Mason. Parker has led the Terriers to the NCAA hockey tournament a record 24 times and has won three national championships.
