Harvard’s victory over New Mexico on Thursday was its first ever in the history of the NCAA Tournament.
That earned the Crimson another shot in the tournament, with a berth in their first-ever Sweet 16 at stake.
Here’s what to look for from Harvard (20-9):
Next opponent: No. 6 seed Arizona (26-7)
Next game: Saturday, 6:10 p.m. at Salt Lake City
TV: TNT
About Arizona: The Wildcats play in the powerhouse Pac-12 conference.
RPI comparison (used to compare teams based on factors like strength of schedule): Arizona’s is 15, Harvard’s is 92. The Crimson now have two wins vs. teams with RPIs in the top 100 this year, while the Wildcats had six wins against teams with top-50 RPIs in the regular season.
If Harvard wins: The Crimson would move on to Los Angeles next weekend, where they would face a still-undetermined opponent.
