The Red Sox, in the first game by a Boston team since the marathon attacks, hung a "Boston Strong" jersey in the dugout with the Boston area code, 617, on it.
A sign expressing condolences for the attacks hung in the Red Sox dugout as Dustin Pedroia passed it.
Mike Napoli had two doubles in a 7-run second inning for Boston. His second double scored three runs.
The game marked the first time the Red Sox faced off against former manager Terry Francona.
The Red Sox picked up a 7-2 win, which marked their fourth straight victory.
