Kevin Garnett and the Celtics fell into an 0-2 series hole after an 87-71 loss to the Knicks in New York.
Doc Rivers was unhappy with the referees. With Kevin Garnett in foul trouble, Rivers said the fouls called on him were "horrendous."
Garnett had to exit the game in the fourth quarter with five fouls.
Carmelo Anthony got the best of Paul Pierce and scored 34 points for the Knicks.
Garnett and Pierce were left dejected on the Celtics bench late in the game.
J.R. Smith rejoiced after hitting a desperation three pointer at the buzzer ending the first quarter for the Knicks.
Former Yankees outfielder Bernie Williams performed the national anthem on his guitar before the game.
