MLB roundup: Detroit’s Max Scherzer now 12-0

Max Scherzer became the first starting pitcher to win 12 straight decisions to begin a season since Boston’s Roger Clemens started 14-0 in 1986, and the Detroit Tigers beat the Tampa Bay Rays, 6-3, behind a pair of home runs from Miguel Cabrera on Friday night in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Scherzer allowed three runs, four hits, walked one, and struck out nine in seven innings.
