One of the first players selected in the NHL draft Sunday will be Seth Jones, a defenseman and native Texan. He heads the list of US-born players who won’t have to wait long to hear their names called.

The son of former Boston Celtic Popeye Jones was named WHL Rookie of the Year with Portland.
D Ian McCoshen
Ht.: 6-2; Wt.: 207; Age: 17; Born: Anaheim, Calif.
After three seasons with Waterloo of the USHL, McCoshen has committed to Boston College.
C Jimmy Lodge
Ht.: 6-0; Wt.: 166; Age: 18; Born: West Chester, Pa.
Scouts love his skating ability, but Lodge (67 points for Saginaw of OHL) needs to add weight.
RW Ryan Hartman
Ht.: 5-11; Wt.: 185; Age: 18; Born: Hilton Head, S.C.
Averaged more than a point per game in OHL (Plymouth) and has been a fixture at Team USA camp.
LW Kerby Rychel
Ht.: 6-1; Wt.: 205; Age: 18; Born: Torrance, Calif.
In 168 career games with Windsor (OHL), Rychel totaled 174 points and 174 penalty minutes.
G Cal Peterson
Ht.: 6-1; Wt.: 175; Age: 18; Born: Waterloo, Iowa
Playing for hometown team in USHL, Peterson won 21 of 33 decisions and had a .906 save percentage.
