Andrew Miller was checked by catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia, manager John Farrell, and a trainer after an injury during a a game in Anaheim Saturday.

Red Sox lefthander Andrew Miller needs surgery to repair a torn ligament in his left foot and will miss the remainder of the season.

Miller was injured during Saturday’s game against the Angels.

Miller is third on the team with 37 appearances. Over 30.2 innings, he has allowed only 25 hits while striking out 48.
