MLB teams have decisions to make on excess players

Dominating performance

Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw’s win-loss record (14-8) may not reflect it, but he’s having one of the best pitching seasons in more than a decade. With an ERA of 1.89 and WHIP of 0.92, Kershaw is in line to become the first pitcher since Pedro Martinez in 2000 to finish with an ERA under 2 and WHIP under 1. There have been only 15 pitchers (with a minimum of 15 starts) to accomplish the feat since 1968, when five did it. - COMPILED BY RICHARD McSWEENEY
