Weymouth was 9 yards from tying the score on the opening drive of the second half as sophomore quarterback Matt Long darted toward the goal line. But at the 1-yard line, the ball was jarred from Long’s grasp and a massive pileup ensued, with both teams fighting for the ball. Natick came up with it. And the Redhawks didn’t look back.
Senior quarterback Troy Flutie led Natick on a 14-play, 97-yard drive that he capped with a 1-yard rushing touchdown to take a two-touchdown lead with 2:39 to play in the third as the No. 4 Redhawks marched past No. 17 Weymouth, 35-14, Thursday in a nonleague game at Weymouth High.
