High school football: Week 4 picks by Bob Holmes

This week’s picks from the Globe’s High School editor:

Wakefield over Melrose — Came to this conclusion with the help of a medium Chocolate Insanity at Cravings.

Plymouth North over Plymouth South — What is it with all these Thanksgiving games? Did I sleep through October?

Holbrook/Avon over South Shore — At my advanced age, I’m a great believer in rest. The Bulldogs haven’t played since last November. That’s what I call well-rested.

Cathedral over Pope John Paul II — My Catholic top five: 1. Cathedral; 2. St. Mary’s; 3. Pope John Paul II; 4. Bishop Fenwick; 5. Xaverian.

Wellesley over Natick — Why the shock? The Raiders did it last year.

Methuen over Dracut — The Rangers are 3-0 and leading the Division 1 North power ratings but I doubt many have Methuen penciled in for a spot at Gillette Stadium. A few more wins could change that.

    Last week: 4-2; season: 10-9.
