Football roundup: Pentucket survives last-second scare

Senior quarterback Ryan Kuchar threw for a pair of touchdowns and junior defensive back Luke Strangman batted down a potential game-tying touchdown with under 10 seconds remaining as Pentucket survived a scare from Triton and held on for a 19-13 win Saturday in West Newbury.

After a failed onside kick, Triton’s defense forced Pentucket (2-0) to punt on fourth and 1 from the Vikings’ 48. The ball was downed at Triton’s 10 with 1:09 left and Pentucket up by 6.
