Roundup: Troy Flute breaks state record for TD passes

It didn’t happen as planned, with a state record on a night when Natick won a playoff game. But in spite of last week’s dissapointment on the Cape, the No. 8 Redhawks celebrated Friday night, beating visiting Needham, 28-14, behind quarterback Troy Flutie, who had three touchdown passes to break the state’s all-time career record.

His second touchdown pass gave Flutie 104, one more than former Everett quarterback Jonathan DiBiaso. Flutie now has 40 TD passes on the year and 105 for his career.
