Patriots find success in 2d half of season

Since Bill Belichick became head coach of the Patriots in 2000, his teams have won 72.6 percent of their games. That percentage even better during the second half of the regular season, when the Patriots have gone 84-21 under Belichick. They’ve been even better the last three-plus seasons in the second half, going 24-1. Year by year in the second half, under Belichick:

2000: 3-5, missed playoffs

2001: 7-1, Super Bowl championship

2002: 5-3, missed playoffs
