CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Patriots running back Shane Vereen, after missing the last nine weeks of the season with a broken wrist, has been activated for tonight’s game against the Carolina Panthers.

Vereen had been on the injured reserve/designated to return list with the wrist injury, which he suffered in the first week of the season against Buffalo. In that game, a 23-21 win over the Bills, Vereen gained 101 yards on 14 carries, the first 100-yard game of his career.
