Revolution release schedule for 2014 season

The Revolution released their 2014 schedule Monday, opening the Major League Soccer season at Houston on March 8. The Revolution travel to Philadelphia on March 15 before opening their home slate March 22 against Vancouver.

Continuing the 34-game regular-season format used in each of the last two seasons, the Revolution will play three games against seven Eastern Conference teams (Chicago, Columbus, Houston, Kansas City, Montreal, Philadelphia, and Toronto). The remaining nine are scheduled against Western Conference opponents (Chivas USA, Colorado, Portland, Seattle, Vancouver, Dallas, Los Angeles, Real Salt Lake, and San Jose).

The Revolution also acquired midfielder Paolo DelPiccolo off waivers from Montreal. DelPiccolo, 22, was selected 27th overall in the 2013 MLS draft and played briefly in Germany before signing with the Impact July 5.
