Avery Bradley leaves game with sprained ankle

MIAMI — Celtics guard Avery Bradley left Tuesday night’s game against the Miami Heat with a sprained right ankle and team officials said he wouldn’t return.

Bradley suffered the injury during the second quarter while trying to guard Mario Chalmers. Bradley appeared to plant his foot awkwardly on the play. He tried to walk it off but eventually left the court and went to the locker room.

With the Celtics already missing Jerryd Bayless (sprained left big toe), the loss of Bradley, their perimeter defensive ace, thinned the Celtics’ backcourt even further.

Bradley had stared all 43 games this season and was averaging 14.8 points entering Tuesday night.
