A number of fans came with signs to show their affection for Andrew Ference, a former Bruin who is now with the Oilers.
As his teammates watched the video tribute, Ference acknowledged the crowd's applause.
The Bruins hosted the Oilers for a Saturday matinee game.

Matt Bartkowski skated with the puck around Matt Hendricks.
Zdeno Chara put the brakes on Taylor Hall.
Gregory Campbell cleared the puck out of the crease and away from Boyd Gordon in the third period.
Dougie Hamilton brought the fans to their feet after scoring to give the Bruins a 2-0 lead in the third period.
Krug scored a power play goal, widening the Bruins' lead.
Mark Fraser tied up David Krejci on this shot late in the game.
Johnson was congratulated by his teammates after the Bruins took a 4-0 win over the Oilers.
