UMass releases 2014 football schedule

The University of Massachusetts released its football schedule for the fall, and it won’t be an easy one.

The Minutemen, who went 1-11 in 2013, will host Boston College and Colorado — both at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough — before visiting Vanderbilt and Penn State, then getting into Mid-American Conference play.

The Minutemen will also resume playing at McGuirk Stadium. UMass hasn’t played at its campus stadium, which has been undergoing renovations, since 2011.Three of the Mintuemen’s league contests will be at McGuirk, including Homecoming, which is set for Sept. 27 vs. Bowling Green.

When UMass faces Ball State on Nov. 12 at McGuirk Stadium, it will be the Minutemen’s first nationally televised game since 2007. The game will air on ESPN2 or ESPNU.
