Derek Lowe to fill in for Jerry Remy on NESN

Derek Lowe will fill in for Jerry Remy in the Red Sox booth for the final two preseason telecasts on NESN, March 25 (vs. Rays) and March 28 (vs. Twins).

It always raises the antenna whenever Remy is excused from games because of his health history.

But a NESN spokesman said it’s a pre-planned absence for Remy and he will be in the booth when the Red Sox open the season against the Orioles March 31.
