Red Sox to visit White House April 1

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. — President Barack Obama will honor the 2013 World Series champion Red Sox at the White House on April 1.

The event will be at 11:15 a.m.

As part of their trip to Washington, D.C., the team is planning to visit wounded soldiers at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

The Sox open their season against the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards on Monday afternoon.
