Winter All-Scholastics: Honoring the area’s best

Ask Christian Monserrat about absolute zero and he’ll tell you about thermal energy and molecular activity.

But to us, it’s the number of times he’s lost a wrestling match to a Massachusetts opponent. Zero, as in never, the first wrestler in state history to ever accomplish the feat. That’s not the only thing on the Methuen senior’s résumé.

His project on global warming won the school science fair, meaning his success isn’t periodic, it’s 24/7. And Monserrat wasn’t alone.
