Brewers vs. Lester: Overbay 9-28, Reynolds 7-26, Gomez 1-10, Braun 1-3, Ramirez 3-4, Weeks 2-4.

Stat of the Day: The Sox haven’t lost the first two home games of a season since 1997, when they lost the first two to Seattle (including a 10-inning affair in the second game) and went on to go 78-84 and finish fourth in the AL East.

Hot hitters: Dustin Pedroia has a seven-game hit streak going back to last season. He leads the Sox with nine hits and his .375 batting average is second on the team behind Xander Bogaerts (.412). His .333 lifetime batting average in interleague play is fifth all-time.

Notes: Sox starter Jon Lester has only seen Milwaukee once in his career, giving up four runs (three earned) on seven hits with eight strikeouts and three walks over eight innings in a 4-2 loss in June 2011 … In his only career start against the Sox at Fenway Park, Gallardo lasted just three innings, giving up eight runs (five earned) on nine hits (two homers) while walking two and striking out four in a 12-3 loss. … The Sox left just three runners on base in Saturday’s loss after leaving 33 stranded in the first four games … Daniel Nava, AJ Pierzynski, and Jonny Gomes are a combined 4 for 51 with 15 strikeouts ... The last time the Red Sox were swept in a three-game series was last May vs. the Rangers ... Pedroia has hit safely in all five games this season ... The Red Sox host the Rangers Monday-Wednesday this week before visiting the New York Yankees for a four-game set Thursday-Sunday.
