NHL playoff predictions from the Globe staff


Bruins vs. Red Wings: Boston in six. Wings’ smarts gets them two wins. But the Bruins’ depth sends Wings back to their rocking chairs.

Eastern Conference: Boston. Bruins dare to lift the Prince of Wales Trophy. Practice for the Cup.


Western Conference: San Jose. Sharks play a sport other than hockey when they’re rocking and rolling. No other team plays with such speed, ferocity, and skill.

Stanley Cup: Boston.

Bruins vs. Red Wings: Boston in six. It certainly won’t be easy, but the Bruins combat Detroit’s speed and move on.

Eastern Conference: Boston. Tuukka Rask proves to be the better goaltender in duel against Henrik Lundqvist and Rangers.

Western Conference: Los Angeles. Kings spoil a rematch of last season’s Cup Final.
